The Display Is Blinking, And The Value Is 000 Repeatedly

Having a blinking show on the TDS meter is primarily due to the dead batteries. First, you must reset the Meter.

You must replace the batteries if the issues keep coming. After finding LR44 Alkaline batteries, you will be able to conduct the battery replacement efficiently.

Note: You must ensure that both flat sides of the batteries are facing the left side while implementing the regalement.

The 999 Is With Another Number On Display

One of the most common issues associated with the Zero water meter is the “999 is with another number on display” issue. Although users misunderstand it as a fault or a “zero water TDS meter not working” issue, it is not.

The Meter’s display shows 999ppm X10, and that indicates as 9,999ppm. It is the maximum value the meters can show. If the water sample you provided has too many particles, that will be displayed as that.

Note: You must not test dirty water samples that could display such high values. The lifetime of the Zero Water TDS Tester may reduce due to that.

The Meter Shows 000 Continuously

The most probable reason for the continuous 000 displaying is the dead batteries. Since the batteries don’t have the electricity to send through the sample, the 000 comes as the value.

The same issue occurs when the user presses the hold button. Until you press the Hold button again, you will keep seeing the last value got on the Meter. If you previously had 000, it would appear continuously.

The Zero Water TDS Meter Is Not Working, As I Could Not Remove The Battery Cap

The battery cap on top of the Meter is hard to remove. You need a flat screw to remove that, and you will hear a pop-up noise when doing that.

But, in some cases, removing the battery cap will be much more difficult due to the corrosion. After depositing corrosive matter from the batteries, the cap will be attached to the Meter. Users may damage the Meter most of the time and have to claim the warranties.

Note: You must use LR44 non-rechargeable Alkaline batteries, which Zero water TDS meter manufacturers recommend.

The Brand New Zero Water TDS Meter Not Working Issue

Several customers who purchased a new device had complained about having a continuous zero reading after trying all kinds of water samples. There are two main reasons, and the first cause involves a manufacturing bug.

You can easily reset the zero water TDS meter to fix the issue. You may easily follow these simple steps.

  1. Turn On the Zero water TDS meter on
  2. Remove the short blue battery cap on the top
  3. Insert the short blue battery cap (You will find it at the end of the Meter)
  4. Now you will see the device has restarted
  5. After that, Remove the long blue cap from the Meter to dip the Meter
  6. Then, Fill a glass of water
  7. After that, dip the pronged end of the Meter into the water cup

(You must not over-dip the Zero water TDS Meter and dip the Meter up to the marked point)

Now, you can check if the issue has been fixed.

How Can I Reduce TDS in My Water If My Zero Water TDS Meter Isn’t Working?

If your Zero Water TDS meter isn’t working, there are still ways to tackle tds reduction in water. Start by installing a reverse osmosis system which effectively removes dissolved solids. Another approach is to use activated carbon filters that absorb impurities. Boiling, distillation, and ion exchange methods can also aid in reducing TDS levels.

The Hold Button Doesn’t Work As It Doesn’t Bring The Previous Reading

When considering most of the user reviews and questions in the Zero Water forum, it is visible that users have misunderstood the Hold button.

Users would think that the Hold button of the Zero Water TDS meter should bring up the previous reading.

What has happened here is “Hold The reading you got now.” This is how you can do that.

  1. Remove the long blue cap from the Meter to dip the Meter
  2. Then, Fill a glass of water
  3. Dip the pronged end of the Meter into the water cup

(You must not over-dip the Zero water TDS Meter and dip the Meter up to the marked point)

  • You will see a reading now.
  • Press the hold button now.
  • Now you have held the last reading you have got. It will remain even after you dip the Meter in water.

Note: If you held the 000 reading, that would seem the Meter is not working due to dead batteries. That is why you must press the hold button after dipping the Meter in tap water again.
